Cathy was born and raised in Hebei, China. She received a BS in biochemistry from University of California, Santa Barbara. During her undergraduate studies, she worked under Professor Christopher Bates and Javier Read de Alaniz on developing self-healing networks and developing syntheses for generating biomimetic materials. Cathy joined the Chemistry Department and the Rowan group in summer, 2021.
