Mike originally grew up in Liaoning Province, China, and moved to Florida. He attended the University of Florida where he received his B.S. degree in Chemistry and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2020. During his undergraduate study, he worked with Dr. Castellano on the synthesis and characterization of self-assembling paracyclophanes promoted by hydrogen bonding. Mike joined the Department of Chemistry in the Fall of 2020 and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Stuart Rowan.
Start date: February 2021
Mike's research is focused on developing a new generation of poly[n]catenanes.
