Lifeng Chen

Lifeng is from Xiamen, China. In 2015, he completed his bachelor's degree in polymer materials and engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology. He received his master's degree in macromolecular science and engineering at Case Western Reserve University with Professor Rowan in 2016. He joined the University of Chicago and continued his work with Professor Rowan as a PhD student in the summer of 2016.

Lifeng's current research is focused on the structurally dynamic polyurethane network with dynamic covalent bonds. As such incorporation of the dynamic bonds into the conventional polymeric system allows polymers to realize or enhance the self-healing properties, reprocessability, and may expand the applications of these traditional materials.
