Before joining the Rowan Group as a PhD student, Qiong received his BS in polymer science and engineering in 2009 and his MS in chemistry (advisor: Professor Gaoquan Shi), both from Tsinghua University in Beijing. Qiong's MS research was focused on electrochemical energy storage materials based on functionalized graphene nanocomposites.
Qiong's research is focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of poly[n]catenane and related mechanically interlocked polymer materials.
