Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Samir received his BS/MS in bioengineering and materials science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019. At Berkeley, he investigated the biophysical properties of hyaluronic acid-based hydrogels for tissue engineering applications under the guidance of Professor Kevin Healy. Samir joined the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering in Autumn 2019 and is co-advised by Professor Stuart Rowan and Jeffrey Hubbell.

His current research project focuses on designing thermally responsive, polymeric nanomaterials for vaccine development.
