Simon Fawcett

Simon was born and raised in the North East of England, where he earned a Master’s degree in Chemistry at Newcastle University, UK. He then joined the newly formed Slark Group as a PhD student in 2018 at the University of Sheffield, UK. Under the supervision of Professor Andrew Slark, his research focused on thermally reversible polyurethanes for adhesion applications, aimed at enabling recycling of waste materials. After obtaining a PhD, he travelled to the University of Chicago where he currently works as a postdoctoral researcher for Professor Stuart Rowan, studying stimuli responsive polymer glasses for applications associated with energy dissipation and reversible adhesion.
